Books to Read in a Few Days

I love reading books aside from the many hobbies that I have.

Just today I bought two used books from the thrift bookstore which I think are interesting to read.

The Automatic Millionaire – I needed this book to improve my financial standing
And the compilation of Hans Christian Andersen little stories and tales

Do you Happen to have a Friend or Know Someone with a Princess Syndrome?

I first came across with the term Princess Syndrome when I was watching the C-Drama entitled “Be Yourself”. One of the main character in the drama series was tagged to have a Princess Syndrome. I was wondering what the term means, since I can’t understand Chinese language and the translation was that, I can’t really rely on. But basing on what I saw in the drama, maybe “princess syndrome” means a spoiled brat so to say.

So the intrigue part of myself, search Princess Syndrome, well Wikipedia described it as a term used popularly in China and Korea to describe psychological phenomenon affecting teenage girls characterized by several psychological disorders such as narcissistic personality disorder, egocentrism, and histrionic personality disorder resulting to individuals affected with the syndrome to act as if they are a princess.

How do you determine if your child has a Princess Syndrome?

  1. Always FUSSING or FRETTING on things like food, hair, profile looks in their social media accounts, weather, outfits-always concerns on their OOTD’s and many more on the list. They do not usually engage in sports activities, the only sport they know is SHOPPING.
  2. Always WHINES even to small things and especially when things don’t go their way.
  3. They are weak but wants to be in CONTROL.
  4. They usually interprets criticism as a personal attack to down them. They don’t admit they are wrong.
  5. They have a high standards to men. They often complains being single or alone but always rejects men that don’t possess or met the all the traits that they have defined for their partners to be to have.
  6. They always expect that men shoulders the “coffee bill”.
  7. They are mostly manipulative and sweet to get their way.
  8. They are not contented, Princesses or Spoiled Girls always crave for more above else.
  9. They want to always set the trend.

Consequences of Being and Having a Princess Syndrome:

  1. Lack of independence
  2. Unsuccessful dating
  3. Lack of regard for the norms and morals of the society

My Take:

Treat your Girls like a Princess but Don’t let Them have a Princess Syndrome.

A good day to all. The morning is so cold and breezy. Looking forward for a very nice day.

Lord, thank you for this day and the events of this day. Thank you for the people that we meet everyday and the things we able to do. Thank you for our food. And thank you for our good health and for keeping us safe everyday.

What the Pandemic had Thought You?

It’s been a year and 5 months since the lockdown in 2020 which happened in March 2020 to be exact.

It’s been a year of struggles, downs and pains especially to some who had experience Covid and lost a loved one. But despite that, we need to see the light, we need to be strong to each other. We need to pray for each other’s to be healed whether, physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

The pandemic of course had thought us so many lessons. To be more kind, considerate, compassionate to ourself and to others. Most of all prayerful that this pandemic shall pass and that our Lord and Mama Mary shall protect us with her mantle.

The pandemic had thought us to be contented of what we have and use things we previously think are no longer usable. We help other people with the little that we have. We care for everyone.

Only if people are doing the safety protocol, practice social distancing, wear facemasks, together we can defeat the virus.

For now we need to continue to pray for mercy that this pandemic shall pass and we can live again our life knowing with renewed hearts to be more protective of each other and our environment.

My blogging pages both in Facebook and WordPress is growing. I wanted to have a tool that caters all. I can took high quality videos, write wherever, carry laptop anywhere because it is not heavy. I can also edit well because it has some applications that offers good editing. I wanted to focus on writing quality information and sharing sensible reviews of either movies, books, dramas or series. Also I wanted to write about plants, and about life, work, and environment.

Episode 2: Be Yourself || Defining Conflicts, Love, Relationships; Uncovering Secrets

The Story: Every year 9.2 million students took national college entrance exam, but only 3,000 were admitted. Four people are set to be roommates, whether they like it or not, they will be the ones to be together and closest for the next four years of their academic stint. These four people should develop team work especially during their military trainings. Join with me as we await every episode shown. Please remember that my reviews is based on the English translation as well as the actions I saw with the lead characters as I do not understand the language.

Let us start with an update of the characters:

Xia: Takes bunk 1 at Room 5438. Has the guts to go out of the room withoit make-up. Does not wear a skirt nor own a pair of hills, can’t tell lipstick shades apart. A straight “A” student. Likes “One Piece”. Has a huge crush on Yiran- her senior high school classmate.

Revealing the Conflicts:

1. Conflict between Fan and Xia because Fan got off the wrong foot with Xia over the green basin.

2. Slow wifi connection in Room 5438.

3. Conflict between Xia and her Mom. Xia’s mom called the school office as well as her counselor to persuade Xia to drop out of the university because of financial challenges and want Xia to study another year in senior high and take next years’ entrance exam.

4. Confrontation between Xia and Yiran over a message Yiran wrote at the back of their graduation photo, “I’m greatful to meet you”, only to find out Yiran wrote the same message to all of his classmates’ graduation photo.

5. Xia asks Mr. Mai to drop out of the university because of heartbreaks; first from Yiran’s confession to Fan, and confrontation with the graduation photo message.

Establishing Relationships:

1. Xia started to nagged her mother over her choice to study in Southwest University of Communications

2. Roommates teased Xia with Yiran over a bottle of “Goddess Chili Sauce”.

3. Fan has started to gain many admirers.

4. Xia started to establish a relationship with Yiran in the military camp and so are Yiran’s group and the girls of 5438.

5. Yiran expresses her desire to Fan leaving Xia at hang.

Uncovering Love:

1. The episode has Xia’s first and second heartbreak: Yiran’s confession to Fan and Confrontation between Xia and Yiran over graduation photo message.

2. Mothers’ love for Xia: Her mother sent a parcel while they were in the military training camp. A dress with a very touching letter and confession.

Discovering Secrets:

1. Xia discovered that her mother was Zorro. With her mothers’ intention to be a part of Xia’s world without botherinf her.

Lessons:

1. Being sensible can be tiring.

2. Adults must learn to make their own decisions and knows to handle consequences of every decisions.

3. Be happy.

Episode 1: Reacting to Be Yourself- a Chinese Drama

Be Yourself is a chinese drama about college life. This drama got 4 main character lead. The artists are Shen Yue, Zhang Rounan, Liang Jingkang, and Wei Wei. All girls are arriving to Southwestern University of Communications and were connected together because they are roommates in Room 5438. Girl 1: Xia Langlang: a girl from the countryside who went to study in the city because her crush also went to the same university. Girl 2: Fan Xiaoyu: rich girl from Fujian Province, at first impression, a brat, studying journalism, who was not able to pay her tuition because her card was cut off. Girl 3: Yang Jiaqian: from Shaanxi, the helpful one, the girl who wear glasses. Girl 4: Huangfu Shumin from Shanghai. parents’ little girl. Settled in Room 5438 where I think more of the story will be created. Conflict, friendship, love and relationships. Xia and Fan had already a conflict at the start because of bunk assignment. And I expect many more conflicts. You should watch this drama, very relatable. My reactions to this drama maybe different from yours. Enjoy.
